Nutrients synergies with Coxibs
The rationale for supplementing the diet with the selected nutrient synergist while taking Coxib medications is two fold:
- Adverse effects from Coxibs are dose-and time-dependent. This means that higher doses of Coxibs taken for longer periods of time are more likely to result in unwanted side effects. Lower doses of these medications used for shorter periods of time are associated with a lower likelihood of unwanted side effects. By giving the body appropriate nutritional support to repair and rebuild damaged joints, and to correct underlying imbalances that promote pain and inflammation, the dose of Coxibs will typically be able to be slowly reduced and often discontinued.
- Coxibs (and other pain and inflammation medications) are not repair oriented. They simply block enzymes involved in the pain and inflammation response. Unless measures are taken to repair and correct the underlying processes that are triggering this pain and inflammation response pathway, degenerative processes will remain unchanged or worsen over time.
